The Writing Life: March 2007 Archives

I was recently informed that a short story I wrote called "Sins of the Fathers" has been accepted into issue number 3 of Relief: A Quarterly Christian Expression

I also got an 1,100 word short-short accepted by the school's literary magazine Cow Creek Review.

Neither of these markets are paying, but it's still a fantastic feeling to lay your life out there and have others express their support of your work.

Everywhere I go, I'm asked if I think the universities stifle writers. My opinion is that they don't stifle enough of them. There's many a best seller that could have been prevented by a good teacher.
