The Writing Life: July 2006 Archives

Novel Journey is hosting a three-day interview with Hatchett (what used to be Warner Faith) Associate Publisher Chip MacGregor. Here's an interesting quote from this interview:

I think most evangelicals are more concerned with doctrinal correctness than life in the Spirit, worship Scripture more than they do God, and are more concerned with appearances than matters of the heart, so they’ve become exclusive and rigid. If Christ came back, He’d be hanging out with gays and homeless people, not with the blue-denim-jumper-with-hair-in-a-bun set. But what do I know?

It's well worth reading!

UPDATE: Chip has his own literary agency: MacGregor Literary

Everywhere I go, I'm asked if I think the universities stifle writers. My opinion is that they don't stifle enough of them. There's many a best seller that could have been prevented by a good teacher.
