The Writing Life: May 2006 Archives
Just finished up this spring semester. Thank the Good Lord Above it's over with.
Sometimes I realy wish I could quit my job for the time I'm going to school. Part of the bargain of getting to go to school while working full time is that school doesn't affect work. I don't have a problem with that at all because it let's me go school, but when you get down to brass tacks, you only have so much stomach lining. You can only procrastinate and worry about a finite number of things at a time. If I don't worry and procrastinate about work, then I'll be slacking off.
At the end of the day, I've realized that buckling under the pressure and simply putting things off until it's very nearly too late to do anything meaningful about it is really the best way to ensure that everything gets an equal amount of worry and procrastination. I certainly don't want any of my various endeavors to suffer just because I'm going to school. If I can't keep up in one area, then I have a responsibility to ensure that I'm not keeping up in the other areas, just to keep everything fair.
It's not over yet. I've still got two tests to turn in. But I've several days until those are due. No need to hurry on that.
